Place Search

The globe can be searched by tags, materials or seller names or place. Each seller's location information is pulled from their Public profile.

Result Clustering

Etsy has an immense user base which is constantly growing exponentially. Plotting all those results directly on a map was not an option, so through Clustering we were able to group users according to their location and zoom level.

Deep linking, Browser History

It is possible to deep link directly into any specific search. Sharing a result page is as simple as grabbing the URL displayed in the browser and forwarding it to your contacts. The back button is also now enabled within the flash application.

Paging Through Results

To be able to cope with the large number of results returned for any search, we created a paged view of the results that get plotted on the globe.
