Thanks for the newsmap. It's probably the one main feature on the web that blows my mind and is so useful in marrying design and function that I have to tell everyone about it. I just saw a video of Hans Rosling talking at the TED Talks in Monterey, California, February 2006 that demonstrated some absolutely amazing design features married with statistical data comparing the development of nations across the globe. It's absolutely brilliant. A little over a year ago I went and saw the design show Massive Change at the Vancouver Art Gallery and I felt a little let down -- the materials section only showed you the materials and had little cards about what they could do -- visitors were not allowed to touch them, nor were they SHOWN what they could do. There was also a wheelchair that could climb stiars which they showed along with several developmental prototypes, but the one thing you never got to see was the thing actually climbing stairs. Why not? Such great opportunities to really SHOW functional design and they were missed, but worst of all, missed in an exhibit devoted mostly to design. Pity. Anyhow, there's Hans Rosling to pick up the slack. You can see the vidoe on my MySpace www.myspace.com/spencermaybee . There's one feature I always wondered if you could include in the newsmap and that's some way to actually see a lits of all the different related articles, instead of being directed to just one of them. I wonder if you could do that, or if you couldn't, if there's some way you could free up the code for a developer or something to do so. I just think it would be absolutely brilliant. You could sell that technology to Google for millions if you felt like it. Again, I digress. Have fun in Winnipeg. I lived there for three and a half years before I moved to Vancouver and I love that city. I hope you're welcomed there. Spencer
